    Response to Michael Johnston's Recent Statement

    [quote]14 February 2014 at 12:37

    Gary Torbett, on behalf of The Killie (Community) Working Party said:

    a??Further to the announcement by The Killie (Community) Working Party [on the 11th of February 2014] of its intention to offer to purchase the shareholding of Michael Johnston, Chairman of Kilmarnock Football Club, in the event that the club were to become debt free, we are extremely disappointed that Mr Johnston has so swiftly and publicly dismissed our intentions.

    a??It is disappointing that this proposal has been dismissed so early into the process without any constructive dialogue with Mr Johnston. Mr Johnston has offered our group the opportunity to buy a seat on the board should it purchase circa 10% of the unallocated shares in the football club. It would not be appropriate for this particular group to purchase a tranche of shares at this time to obtain a seat on the board of Kilmarnock FC, given our stated purpose.

    a??The group would welcome, indeed we would urge

    [color=blue]That does NOT sound good.

    Sometimes I get this feeling that MJ does not want to work with organisations like this, but feels forced to because if he doesn't then the fans will continue to walk away.

    What an idiot! He should be doing everything he can to keep the fans we have and to help bring more into the stands, at Rugby Park instead of moaning because his ego is being attacked and hurt!

    Have to agree k.k.that it does not sound good. This dispute is doing no good at all to all parties,and the sooner he sits down with all parties and sorts it out,the better it will be for the team.

    I don't understand how a company director can be expected to oversee the eradication of such a DEBT and then be expected to say "here you go iv got us back in the black have it all for nothing with my best wishes!!" Community ownership may be the aim, but lets be realistic MJ has got Ai13-Ai14M down to Ai9m, at least, billy Bowies on board, the guy fae qts also involved. The goalposts have moved, time the boycott stopped, targets were re-evaluated. Lets work together, theaters empty every week, great young team coming through, possibly Boyds swansong, Eremenkos back!! Slater, Kiltie and McKenzie best young talent in Years, since days of Naisy,Boyd Canero. Still got young Johnston & gros when Boyd goes, Barbour etc etc..
    Johnstones act of getting in other business men has neutered the boycott pointless, buying gold and blue scarfs from an independent company seems stubborn and pointless, why are we starving our team of revenue again? MJ isn't leading us to administration, the boycott
