    Injured players

Why in football generally do we now see so many injured players, back when squads were small and only 1 sub was used, teams always fielded a side. Is it the "Molly coddle" generation we live in, or that the sport is now more athletic

Guess it's both, the game is faster now so easier to tweak a muscle, also players of old would play on with pain killer injections but suffer for it in later age. We do seem to have more than our fair share though.

It's just one of those things.

Sometimes you get through a season with a small squad hardly any changes, sometimes you get half a dozen serious injuries and other constant knocks.

I think we'll make the play offs, from there it's just down to the luck over those few weeks.

There's no mollycoddling a ligament tear or a fracture.

i blame sod for this situation.
    took from another forum
One remainder of SOD's reign is still at the club - Ross Burbeary , the "sports scientist"/fitness and conditioning coach who had followed SOD from crawley & doncaster.

When he was there at doncaster , their squad picked up a ridiculous amount of injuries which also seemed to follow him here. Concidence ? Who knows ?
