    26 Nov v Preston (H) W 6-0 (Bull 4, Mutch, Vaughan).

Then we lost 1-3 at Northampton on 4 December.

Regarding Tundra's comments about statistics in another thread, I have found that the champions of any of the major Leagues seem to have a run of at least six successive wins during their season. Whatever happens at Walsall, at least we have surpassed that!
Preston and Bristol City have the wonderful distinction of being part of both record setting streaks.

I assume you are speaking of the Doog and not me, Wokes!

Thanks for posting the shot, I like the Doog's, "I did it my way," attitude that seemed to permeate his whole life!

I had never seen this picture before today, courtesy of the Daily Mail:-

Some of our readers will remember the excitement generated by a series of floodlit friendlies played at Molineux in the 1950s, matches which thrust Wolves into the spotlight. Some of the games were televised by the BBC - it was extremely rare for any game to be shown then outside of the FA Cup final. This picture shows Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Mikhail Yakobovich Piraev watching a shot from Peter Broadbent (far right) sail over the crossbar. Wolves won this game 4-0 in November, 1954
