January 14th 1984, Steve Mardenborough trots back to the centre circle celebrating his unlikely goal against Liverpool at Anfield in yet another disasterous mid eighties season!
Little did I know it would be 26 years before we next won there and I would be there to witness it with my son!!...Cheers Wardy!

Am I mistaken or is that Wayne Clarke and Peter Daniel?
That must be very close to their final days at Wolves.

Yes mate near the end for those guys also in the picture Alan Dodd and Danny Cranie!!
Here is a largely unsung hero of the great team of the late fifties early sixties. Bobby Mason. Always in Broadbents shadow and left out of the 1960 Cup Final team for Barry Stobart. Home grown player scored between 50-60 goals in his five seasons. For some reason never taken seriously though by the fans at the time. Pity.
Not a great quality pic but catches the atmosphere wonderfully. I know, I was there. Mason heads for goal against Red Star of Belgrade in the European Cup tie.
Some great pics coming on here now, which is what I had hoped for.
Woody, for me, the Wolves forward line of the late 50s was always Deeley, Broadbent, Murray, Mason, Mullen. Stobart did a great job in the 1960 Cup Final, but I do think it was very hard on Bobby Mason not to be chosen at that late stage.
Mason's career record with Wolves of 54 goals in 173 appearances was a record to be proud of!
Birmingham 0 Wolves 1 (1959-60): Bobby Mason's shot does the trick for Wolves on a day when they kick off as champions of England.
Sort of Wolves related. Jayne Mansfield shows her pins off at half time at White hart Lane. Spurs V Wolves, 1959. We lost 5-1. Most likely our boys couldn't run for tripping over the old third leg! Great photo though.
I was there, Woody, my first ever Wolves match and I remember Jayne Mansfield's appearance and Bobby Smith's 4 goals! I never thought there would be a picture of her being there!Originally Posted by WOODLANDSWOLF

How about that. What a coincidence.
Two of me heroes and both Wolves fans Planty & Mutchy been lucky enough to talk to both of em in depth in the past!
