    'Atmosphere'

I had to move my seat twice on Saturday in an attempt to see the fitba'. I got there good and early, but twice I found myself behind fans who wanted to stand while they watched. I have a degree of sympathy with their point of view, but could they have a wee look round before they place themselves? They're 'Well fans like me, so tried to get round the issue rather than debate it. But the 'standing areas' stuff needs to be sorted out soon.
Then there was the scuffle after we'd equalised.
One lad in front of me had, after Hibs had got right back into the game, started directing a relentless torrent of really quite awful abuse at our team and SM. A couple of older 'Well fans tried to get him to calm him down, but eventually somebody lost the rag. It took four or five of us to get the lid back on. I'm 71. I've probably seen more 'Well games in the past than I'm going to see in the future. I'd like to enjoy them, and I didn't on Saturday.

Like me then, you'll remember when everyone had their spot on the terracing. If you found yourself by some undesirable you just moved -- simples.

Perhaps you should consider adopting my tactic when boarding a bus. I relax at the back f the Q and let everyone else on, then up the steps I go ------ that way I get to choose who I sit beside.

You are right about the seating issue tho. We now have generation who've never experienced the terraces but don't wish to sit nonetheless.

We've had the same problem many times. I have no problem with folk standing providing that they don't block another fan's view. If they want to stand they should position themselves at the back or wherever. Its a bit selfish isn't it?

Last season at Aberdeen the same thing occurred, the press picked it up and ran with it blaming the stewards. It was 'WELL fans having a go at each other, as the young bloods would not sit down...they were blocking the view of us older guys sitting behind them. If you ask politely for them to sit down, as I have in the past, you tend to get a mouthful of abuse. Their attitude is they are right and if you old fogeys don't like it ...go elsewhere. Part of their argument on that day was that the Dons fans were standing and no-one was asking them to sit...they were standing, however they were at the back of the stand behind the goals and not blocking anyone's view.
It is a constant problem I just wish the younger guys would see the difficulties they are causing for us oldies. A wee bit of mutual understanding and some common decency would go a long way.

These young guys should show a bit of respect to older fans. Could end up with folk getting scunnered and deciding they have had enough!!! Not enough 'Well fans nowadays to lose anymore.
