Basically in short, Aberdeen will win.

There's always the chance it will.

But it's really no different from the extreme confidence exuded by Hearts fans prior to the final with Hibs a couple of years back.

I'm probably feeling similar to you were then - I think we'll win but there's a small part of me obviously worried we don't.

We're a better team than Inverness. It's up to the players to show that on the day.

By the way, that's not to say Inverness don't have some good players.

I rate Foran highly. I know others don't, but I think he's a really top player in the SPFL and capable of influencing a match. McKay is obviously dangerous given a sniff. Tansey can't half strike a ball from midfield. Shinnie the full back is decent.

They're stuffy, they work their socks off and, barring the odd blip, they don't concede many.

I'm not dismissing them or their chances, and it would be no disgrace if they did beat us. I just think we've got the players to handle the occasion and extra pressure on AFC that we haven't had for circa 20 years.

I think we'll win 2-0.

If there's one club who should f*ck over-confidence oot the door in cup games it's AFC. Add to that ICT's build up this week and you get potentially the biggest kick in the spuds in league cup history.

In saying that, McInnes WILL have them prepared and set up properly and we now have good pros at the core of the side. I expect to dominate the game and scrape a narrow win.
