    messi last night.

    only seen highlights.

wonder in the incident when he hit the post why he didnt square the ball for his teammate running in to hit one, he would have had more space reducing the chance of the shot being blocked and he would have had a better angle.

all messi done was run past a guy making it obvious he was only wanting to shoot, he never disguised it as if he was going to use another option and a better option. he also never had the right angle or power on the shot, but if he was a team player with vision his teammate would have achieved a cleaner shot, had it been laid off to him.

messi has a lot to learn before he can come up to world cup level.

footballs a team game, not about how much the individual can do.

its those subtle differences that get noticed at world cup level.

"messi has a lot to learn before he can come up to world cup level."

Only saw the second half but the guy is absolute class. Anytime the ball came near him MC nearly shat themselves and the Barca players continued to look for him.

He's certainly not flawless but for comfort on the ball, speed of thought, skill, eye for a pass etc the guy IS world class.

not disgreeing with you in anyway, he is class on the ball.

his problem is he dominates too much of a game and dosent always see the easier option which is beneficial to the team.

he has a lot to learn in terms of when to release the ball.

i just dont think he will have a comfortable world cup, he will be relied on to much and heavily marked, thats ok if your a player who dosent want to dominate the ball all the time, and that tactic will not work in the world cup.

Messi had an easier game than usual last night as there was no holding midfielder for City. Not sure Pellegrini got that spot on but he seems to go for the attacking option.

I'd have played Dzeko up front, taken Silva off the team and put Garcia in midfield with Toure and Fernandinho could've marked Messi.
