    Attendances

As we crashed out of the Championship in spectacular fashion last season, our noisy neighbours from Sandwell, reveled in the fact that our crowds would be so small we would have to close one side of the ground.

Yesterday, we saw a crowd of over 24,000, second only to the 28,000 that witnessed the game against Orient. The average this season must be in excess of 20,000, proving that supporters will support a winning team that are playing entertaining football.

Did the club drop a major clanger by not continuing the ground redevelopment this season, while we are in League one?

Next season the missing thousands, hopefully will be back again as we attempt to get back into the 'greed' league.

Following the La Liga Premier game this evening on the PC, the crowd at Real Sociadad has been given as 23,600. In view of that we are certainly putting a dent into the 'baggies' predictions.

    re: Attendances

The Baggies' last home game (against Manure) had 26,184 in attendance; their previous home match against Fulham had 25,782 souls show up. Not much to brag about considering the Wolves pulled in 24,012 supporters to watch them play at home against mighty Shrewsbury!?!?!?!

Good to see large crowds BUT then we jigger it up by playing like a Sunday league side infront of many people who have come to see if we have improved and who maybe future supporters. I know two who were contemplating getting season tickets but who said if that's what we're serving up they will just pick their matches.Similarly the crowd of young school kids who were there couldn't have been too thrilled as their goalie didn't have a shot to stop hence no goals to cheer.Same happens if we are televised, always play rubbish.

I think this season was probably the best time to do away with the Steve Bull Stand, small crowds and all that. If we go up this season, no doubt a few will return.
