The World Cup tournament in 2018 is to be held in Russia. It's still a long way off in the future but, given the uncertainty caused by the current military, political and economic upheaval there and in eastern Europe generally, there must be some doubt as to whether it will actually go ahead.

Personally feel that it's none of our business and should stop meddling . The Crimea situation is a done deal and Ukraine is a failed state. Military action, either direct or by surrogate means would be an act of lunacy, so the US will probably have a go. They care not much for international law and like to flex their military muscle.

There are enough Chinese and Muslims in the World who don't like the US so they don't really need to be making more enemies in the Russians. Unfortunately though, more fuel to the fire with increasing economic sanctions will hurt Europe far more than them. Winters are long and hard enough.
