Stoke built brand new training facilities for 6m. Note that's building brand new ones, not enhancing what was already there for 30m plus.
If it carries on increasing at the current rate it'll be worth more than Man City. Not something to gloat about.Originally Posted by pompey_smell

Sounds familiar.
A certain south coast club in financial difficulties and still nothing to show for it.
I wonder how much the dwarfs' payoff will be? In NC they trusted.
Could be those marble statues Emporer Cortese had made of himself to fill the empty trophy room that pushed the price up.
They were put through the crusher, laid, graded and compacted as sub base for the new access road to Staplewood.
So is this true, not everything in the garden is rosy?
The "In Cortese we Trust" brigade must be distraught
If they actually removed their heads from the sand we might be able to see if they're distraught or not.Originally Posted by Southerndown

Amazing how many Pompey fans have jumped on Saints financial results, desperately trying to convince themselves they mean financial disaster.
They appear to be unaware (or deliberately ignoring) that...
- Saints for finishing 8th in 2013/14 will receive 17m+ in prize money
- The accounts are for the 2012/13 season, a season with significantly lower TV money revenue than that of the 2013/14 season. For finishing 20th in 2013/14 you receive 60m in TV money, Saints are on course to finish 8th.
- The 30m spent on upgrading the training ground is a once in 20 or 30 year event and sets the club up for the long term. Pompey don't even own a training ground, let alone spend 30m to upgrade it.
- The playing staff wage bill as a % of turnover is between 40% and 50%, the total wage bill as a % of turnover is 65%. That is relatively low compared to most clubs.
- Some of the costs in the 2012/13 accounts are due to paying off players that weren't good en
