McHugh scores for Queens !
1033 Queens fans at Falkirk - magnificent !
Living dangerously.
Work commitments ment I had to listen to it on the radio today .
By the sounds of it Queens missed far too many good opportunities & Dan Carmichael had a fantastic game . Hope he's in the mangers plans for next season . He certainly sent a message out to him today .
Gutted our season is over but what a fantastic league we've got the look forward to next season .
Onwards & upwards
Missied chances has been the story of our season and our failure to secure a replacement natural striker for Nicky Clark unfortunately has come home to haunt us.
Saying that we have had a successful season and we have something to build on and I think exciting times are ahead next season.
This was a game that we could have won. So why didn't we? Partly because we missed one or two good chances but mainly because the team, and the defence in particular, was far too busy gift wrapping the tie for Falkirk to win it for themselves. Falkirk simply worked harder than we did and didn't indulge in self-inflicted wounds to the same extent as we did.
Queens should never have lost that game, but that's football. Falkirk are definitely a bogey team even though we beat them on tuesday. We created enough chances to win two or three games. A bit of composure in front of goal and we could have had 3 or four goals. The goals we lost were soft and through bad defending. But Queens were missing 5 first team players and it was a valiant effort from the team.If we can hold on to most of the squad we should be okay next season. Thanks to the players and the management team for a memorable season.
Despite the defeat really enjoyed the game on a really smart looking plastic pitch. Superb turnout of Doonhamer fans - the biggest away support apart from Rangers at the Falkirk Stadium this season. A long time since I have been at a game with so many goalscoring chances but fair play to the Bairns who took theirs and Queens didn't. Good luck to the players that will be leaving Palmy and thanks for your efforts over the past nine months.
We gave it a go and came up a bit short, this has been the story in so many games this season eg Hearts, St mirren, Dundee a couple of times also Falkirk. Terrible way to lose after having contributed so much to an entertaining game , however all players gave there all today and with a little better fortune we would have progressed.
Fourth best was our position and results against top teams proved this, we just lacked that quality particularly in the final third.Bring on next season and as Nith Valley has suggested elsewhere mid table will probably be our target and hopefully squeeze into the playoffs.
