Thread: Falkirk v Queens

    re: Falkirk v Queens

A game too far yesterday, the reaction of the players at the end of the match spoke volumes for the spirit within this fine community club.
players and staff had given every ounce they had over a long season and left nothing but admiration from the Queens loyal supporters once again.
Was left once again with nothing but positives from being amongst the Doonhamers fans, the home support can be a little quiet at times but the support anywhere away is second to non. A massive step forward and if a full squad was fit they would have turned over the Bairns on their own patch, think if Gavin was fit his pace would have told as Daniel Carmichael put in some great crosses in behind the home defence.
Would like to thank Derek Young, Zander and others who were saying farewell to the fans at the end of their Queens careers, others will come to represent the club next season and the fourth place gets Queens a bye in that round of the Scottish cup plus big teams to come next season. Bring it on The

Couldn't make the game yesterday due to work but along with others, listened to the game on the radio and listening to the crowd it sounded like a queens home game. So close to getting through a tough tie and there's no disgrace in this defeat. The club has won a lot of admiration from around the country this year and that makes me proud to be a fan. I even heard a hibs fan on the radio saying that if queens got through to the final of the playoffs then his would definitely lose. When was the last time that could be said and what a distance we have come in the last two years

After a poor start I think we can look on our season back in this league with a bit of pride. Many thanks to the players and management team for making most of our weekends enjoyable and let's look forward to a cracking season next year.

One final thought. If hibs come down and Dunfermline come up, with rangers and hearts already in the league, it could end up with a crazy situation where the TV money will be g

So near yet so far. Well done to all the players who put in so much effort yesterday. I never like to see Queens getting beat but as long as they are putting everything into it you can't feel too disheartened. Danny Carmichael was a stand-out, it just makes me wonder how much more he could have contributed to the season if he had been given more game time. Thanks to Zander Clark, another contender for MoM yesterday, his arrival earlier this season certainly signaled an upturn in our fortunes. Best of luck in your future career. It wouldn't be unfair to say that Beany Russell didn't have the best of games yesterday however when you consider his contribution in goals throughout the season I can't criticise too harshly.
Chris Mitchell's crosses and dead ball deliveries were missed yesterday but Dowie slotted in well at right back before having to go off injured.
To summarise, a great effort from the players, well backed by a tremendous travelling support. Let's hope that a few more of the

Well said Auld yin and, along with more fans, I wouldn't mind Queens enticing Doonhamer - born Rory Loy to Palmerston as he was a real threat throughout and gave young Holt loads of trouble.

The old cliche of a tie of four halves. After the first leg we looked the more streetwise team in the first 45 minutes. The only thing i was contemplating at half time was the team to face Accies.I could not see us conceding 2.You have to credit Falkirk for getting back into and then going onto win the match but we helped them along the way.Holty never settled the whole game and was caught out at the first but even then we could have cleared it.Durnan gave away cheap possession before the second although the injury to Dowie added to the mayhem. Both these lads are young and will learn from this and both have had great seasons. We had chances at the other end that we didn't take so i suppose you win and lose as a team.
Falkirk will be up against it against Hamilton but if they keep Loy fit they will have a chance. He gets into good areas and has great control but goes down fairly easy.I thought Beck could be useful at this level but he had little interest in the ball yesterday. The Bairns hav
