As Froggie said... perhaps they're trying to provoke BFS into some "sack-able" outburst by publicly humiliating him. And just maybe (or though I doubt it) they're already interviewing and just want to cover all bases??

Said it before and will say it once more.

So long as Allardyce keeps us in the Prem for the next two seasons until we take over the Olympic Stadium, there is no way the board will sack him.

The meeting on 23rd May 2014 is just a public relations exercise to placate the fans imo.
