I thought you'd been on the barley wine again and started seeing double

I should have, maybe England would have looked a bit better than they do .

Save the drink until it kicks off for real, these lot won't go far. A good workout all the same.
We did what we had to '71, cant knock em for that. I dont really take much from friendlies like these where players arent going at it 100% and far too many subs are made.
And did you notice their keeper got a phantom injury when he dropped the ball for the third goal. And then amazingly he got up and was ok
A true miracle, Acido!
A chance for the English squad to become familiar with each other on the pitch, but not much else. Peru had only six shots of which only one was on target, one corner and 11 fouls; a tougher opponent will reveal England's strengths and weaknesses!
Next up:
2 June: Deadline for final squad to bed;
4 June: v Ecuador, Miami, USA;
7 June: v Honduras, Miami, USA;
roll on June 14th: World Cup opener v Italy!
Ok mate I'll give you one, Glen Johnson! If this player is the best excuse we have for a right back/defender then we are in a poor state. He is in the the squad more because his club side cover his deficiencies than his actual ability to defend.Originally Posted by Acido
I know full backs, as we older fans remember them, aren't exactly what the title suggests in 'todays game', and acting as an auxiliary winger is much more part of modern tactics but at least I'd expect him to get his basic f******g positioning right!
Shocking! Oh and btw, can anybody explain to me why Henderson gets into the squad?
I'm not knocking it at all, i classed the game tonight as nothing more than a workout to try and give as many players time on the pitch as possible. I try and post about what i see and also not hype England up. I want them to do well, but i don't see them getting far at the world cup. Please remind me of this post if England progress further than the group stage.Originally Posted by Acido
A lot of players go down as if they're hurt and put on an injury to con the ref, a big part of what's wrong in the game. The keeper got punished for it.

I thought the same, someone is going to fry this Turkey{ Johnson that is] during the tournament.
Henderson? I don't know, I think the p
