Watching the D Day tributes and it has struck me what a dignified and respectful bunch the remaining veterans really are, it does make me think though what they must think 70 years on when they look at the state of our once proud country, immigration is rife kids getting stabbed in the streets, kids with no respect for themselves let alone anyone else. they must think why did so many fall for what we have today, a government that has no respect for the born and bred people of this country, yet give everything to the free loading benefit scrounging vagrants from other country's, the veterans are from an age where they cared and where proud of their country this is why so many went to war and never returned, long may they be remembered and respected, OUR country will never be like they knew it back then,

I can`t add too much more. Agree with everything that has been said and I know from talking to people that more and more are thinking along the same lines. Governments, past and present, have all talked the talked but done very little. Yes, there is room for compassion but not at the expense of our people.
The county wouldn't run without immigrants. I wonder what our overseas posters think on the issue as there immigrants too. This also creates a stronger gene pool in the UK.
Very political and I will keep my personal view to myself on immigration but I often wonder what would happen if another world war did happen? just who would give their lives up for this country?
Anyway, we who do share these lands owe the brave men and women of all religions colours and creeds who fought for the good of this land and peace against a wicked man in Hitler!
I find it hard to hear some of the stories of the landings and the sacrifice given by young men from many shores all for the cause, I will have great pleasure watching all the old films over this weekend.
We can never thank these people enough!
Come on England grew fat on plundered booty for hundred's of years. You know the piper must be paid.
D-day. Wow. I couldn't fathom being in that first wave up the beach or what life may have been like had it failed.
D-day and the storming of the beaches of Normandy is indeed beyond comprehension in terms of it's brutality, bloodshed and the sheer bravery of the men involved. I simply could not imagine putting myself in a position where i know it is probable that i will be killed or injured. Incredible.
On the immigration point I have to go with Bongo. So many companies rely on them simply because they cant the Brits to do the job. I think you'll find there are more British benefit scroungers than there are from the EU. Blaming immigrants for the ills if the country us akin to Hitler blaming the jews for the ills of Germany...and we're back the D-day. I think its fair to say a peaceful Europe working in partnership economically, socially and politically is actually exactly what the men of d-day gave up their lives for.
So go with the USA system - you need a job to enter, then if you are not working, you go home. Immigrants should earn the riOriginally Posted by Nushworth

immigration/emmigration? Same thing. Shouldn't be an issue, "home culture" of wherever you are should be observed and respected, apart from that:
If you ***** us with a pin, don’t we bleed? If you tickle us, don’t we laugh? If you poison us, don’t we die? And if you treat us badly, won’t we try to get revenge?
In fact maybe we should qoute Shakespeare to Randy... UTV
