    Oh well, RomanRover didn't last long. OK, back to my original prediction of the winners of Group B.
    Just call me AmsterdamRover. (Which probably means that Chile will win that group).

    the point being that the long ball(direct football) should still play a part in england`s game as it does in the premier league. why aren`t we mixing it up and using it? a fear of critisism perhaps? well if it`s good enough for uruguay and germany(last world cup v england), then it should be fine for us, but it ain`t is it thanks to some muppet fans and our media..

    Playing tippy-tappy football works if you move the ball quickly, I have seen old people (looking at Alf) piss quicker than we passed the other night.

    I don't mind the direct approach, however, there is a difference between playing direct and just a massive hoof up the park. Now't wrong with playing it to a front man who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. Sturridge was trapping the ball further than he could kick it the other night.

    Better still, of course, is getting the ball to the bye-line before crossing it to the target-man. Makes life much harder for the centre-backs and keeper.
