Would have Gavin Rae before either Cameron or Ferguson, to much of a circus if "Bazza" got the job

Gutted Peanut has left but totally understand as he is getting full-time employment and a chance to make a for himself coaching at Aberdeen, hopefully we can get some loanees from them also.

Sheerin was 75% success at Gayfield which is a not bad return and of course WON THE RED LICHTIES their 1st ever Championship playing some of the best football we have ever seen for the maroons.

With a few players just signing on the basis of PS/SP and so close to pre-season training/friendlies I would appoint Petrie as interm Manager and lets see who applies for it.

Some good candidates like Gary Bolan (who has twice applied for the Gayfield hot-seat and lives local) and Colin Cameron who lives in Monifieth, okay both are at Airdrieonians and Berwick but would they not want a club on their doorstep? and of course Kevin Tindal who won the league with Cove Rangers and is available, but I would give Petrie a chance first.

Thank you Paul and all the best.

For the worst defence in Scotland Terry Butcher is obviously the answer. He could even play... :-))

Many thanks and all the best to Paul Sheerin.

He will always be welcome at Gayfield and his team of 2010 - 2011 is written in the history books .

He will be a hard manager to replace, but he leaves the club in good shape with around 80% of the playing squad all in place for the coming season.

Lots of good times at Gayfield under Sheerin - winning the league, cup replay with Celtic, great run in the Ramsden cup and some great signings.

Paul's style of football was a pleasure to watch and his in the history books of Arbroath is secure.

Hopefully Arbroath will continue to network with Aberdeen and we may get a get one of their fringe players on loan.

He leaves the club in good shape? Come on! Defence is our problem send he signed no defenders and no goalie. We're in trouble if we don't move quickly. The Highland League is not to be contemplated.

Petrie cheap option for the myopic un ambitious chairman . Although never a great fan of sheerin don't think he had enough contacts or the strength of character to deal with the forward thinking visionaries upstairs . I may be wrong but why did we manage to piss off a great fit utility player like Banjo maybe the offer of a season ticket and a bag o wine gums wasn't enough , our loss . Perhaps it was the straw that broke the camels back for Sheerin.
