    Lovren

SSN saying that Saints are not selling anymore players as they do not want to weaken their squad amymore, and that Koeman wants them to stay as well.

Not sure what will happen if Lovren does a squinny like Lallana, and refuses to play, but if true then fair play to the owner and the rest of the board.

Time to build the squad up and show the recent exports that we can move on and progress without them.

Echo saying that he does not plan to return to the club this summer and does nor wish to play for Saints again.
If thats the case then surely at some point the club have got to show these players that when they sign these lucrative contracts, then they should do the honourable thing and at least make the effort to see them out.
All these 'want aways' are saying they want to play champions league, but are surely missing the point that if they had all stayed at the club, and with a few more additions, they could be doing so with us.
Lallana's gone to liverpool and with Suarez seemingly on his way, i wonder if they will acheive their champions keague slot next season.

The club needs to show these mercenaries that they deserve some loyalty back.

From now on contracts should have a gross misconduct clause inserted, worded along the lines that in extreme cases, the club is entitled to withold salary payments. Ie, if someone does a Liellana, the club can say "tough ****. Rot in the reserves, unpaid, until either your contract expires or you make yourself available for selection". Hit them where it hurts!

The clubs need to show who's boss again as contracts mean nothing these days. Not just Saints, but every club.

It won't happen though. Welcome to a new era in the rise of player power!

Could the club refuse to release his registration thereby preventing him from playing for anyone else ?

What would be the point? We'd probably still have to pay his wages.

Have you been hiding out in a rainforest for the last 10 years? What is new about this?

Maybe Lovren had something in his contract about the Chairman not being fired, the manager not leaving and the other best players not being transferred either.

Just another rat on the sinking ship...

    Next?

He might be another rat, but this ships not for sinking.

And not for the first time you are utterly incapable of discussing the point and revert to childish calling.

Yeah welcome to the grand new world of player power. And in Jack's next "Look Forward In Football" he'll introduce us to agents.

'Agents' you say Jack? What are they? And will they have any power???

Fine in principal Brocks but I see two problems with that, one the player would lose value during that period so it would be the club who suffers (twice), two the precious little fella, encouraged by his agent would probably take legal action for his human rights/restraint of trade or some such balls!
