    Match ball sponsorship normally comes as part of a hospitality package. So a company takes important clients to a game, get a box, VIP treatment and their in the programme.

    The package is meant to impress the important people they are entertaining, not plebs like you and me.

    As for this whole thread, match balls, player home and away kits, etc, etc have been sponsored at most clubs for decades, as I'm sure they have at Derby, you've obviouly just had your head in the sand!! Try looking in some old programmes, I bet it list loads of sponsors!

    WHen I go to the game I don't even really notice what sponsors what, I don't really care. As long as we keep making money I'm happy. End of the day it's on the pitch that counts.
