Everton win race for Christian Atsu with Chelsea starlet signing on season-long loan

Roberto Martinez has convinced the Stamford Bridge top brass that the Ghanaian winger will get enough first team minutes under his belt at Goodison this term.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has won the race for Chelsea's speedy winger Christian Atsu.

Martinez spoke to the Stamford Bridge club to assure them that the flying Ghanaian winger will play enough in a season-long loan.

Bill Kenwright will also pick up the tab for the rental fee and wages just days after signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Don't know what the **** is going on with this one. He was signing, then he wasn't. A deal was agreed, then he signed, then he hadn't signed negotiation were still ongoing, then he was on Merseyside having a medical after agreeing to sign. That was all in the same day

Heard yesterday that he would be signing on Wednesday; now the reports are that he will sign within the next 24hrs. No doubt the next report will be that Sunderland have stepped in and signed the lad from under our noses

Duncan, you are spot on about the deal being a strange one. The lad could have a dip in form and not deserve a place; are we supposed to play him anyway just to keep Chelsea happy? Guess we'll just have to trust that Senor Bobby knows what he's doing, and all will be well and good
