Great start.

Very pleased with this afternoon's performance. Now that Hartley has moved on I thought this game was a less dour affair than many of the encounters in the recent past.
Catastrophic defending by Alloa helped to open the game up early on. Great anticipation by Del and he made the finish look a lot easier than it was.
Alloa made a couple of good openings in the old inside right position in the box too. Very speedy counter- attack second with a great top left finish from Gav.
Danny and Del were my choices for MoM.
My first sight of Baird - thought he looked lively. Onwards and upwards!
A Alloa encounter is normally like watching paint dry but this game was far from dull.
We are creating a lot of good chances but in contrast do look a bit vulnerable in defense at times.
Very important we take points from Alloa, Cowden and Dumbarton.
Stand outs for me were Fowler, Danny, Lyle and McShane.
Solid but unspectacular .Couldn`t help using an old cliche there to describe yesterday.Alloa could really count themselves unlucky to go in two nil down at half time . They made inroads down our left side time and time again but Zander came to the rescue with some good stops. Our classic counter attack for the second really killed them off as they never looked like pegging us back in the second half. Queens could have added at least one more after the interval with a Baird off side goal and a great hand by the wasps keeper when Gavin was one on one . Altogether, a comfortable afternoon at the office and three points thankyou very much------ McShane has really grown into his position. Now we have a confident young man eager to be on the ball all the time AND works hard off it.Well done McIntyre because I couldn`t really see it working. Lyle aka Peter Pan continues to dumbfound the critics with another solid display and GREAT finish. A high, spinning ball expertly put away. Can see him st
Good victory over a decent side. Alloas number 8 Ryan McCord caused a couple problems in the first half but Zander did well to keep him out. this victory has set us up nicely to beat Dumbarton next week and hopefully get a few goals against them. Currently 0-0 in the hearts game so we're 2nd!, they're was also a great result for Cowdenbeath yesterday against Falkirk, 2-2. Mon' the south!
It was a very good result and particularly satisfying given that Queens soaked up the advantage Alloa had of the wind behind them in the first half.
Alloa could and should have had at least 3 goals in the first 45 minutes, but we took our goals extremely well on the counter, particularly the second which was a joy to watch.
Queens had the advantage of the wind in the second half and it was unbelievable that we didn't get at least another two goals. Indeed, apart from a scare near the end, if we'd registered another 5-0 win it would not have been surprising given the chances we created.
Over the 90 minutes, Queens were far and away the better team and deserved the comfortable win with Danny a stand out for me.
Great result but i thought Queens were poor in the 1st half despite going in 2 up.The Alloa three cenrtal midfielders were controlling most of the play and Cawley seemed to have a free role behind the front two.Great second half from Queens and Del was the the best Queens player on the pitch until he was withdrawn. We may get away missing 5 players against Alloa,Livingston and Dumbarton but i feel we will be punished against Gers, Hearts, Hibs and Falkirk, because our midfield simply is not strong enough at the moment with all the injuries.
Totally agree Lefty, we will be punished severely unless we bring in an on loan midfielder.
The lad Holmes no 10 for Alloa was another stand out on Saturday in midfield.
