The Daily Mail Deulofeu Fail.
The Daily Mail are waking up from their afternoon snooze with some serious egg on their faces after they took quotes from a Twitter account as gospel and ran a story slating Everton this morning.
The Mail ran a story about Gerard Deulofeu going on loan from Barcelona to Sevilla for the next season and included quotes that were attributed to Barca boss Luis Enrique, claiming he didn’t want the Spaniard to return to Everton.
The Fail, as it is commonly known around the country, included the quote, ‘Gerard Deulofeu was wasted last year. They tried to kill his flair and vision. That won’t happen at Seville’ and cited that it had come from Spanish daily paper, Marca. Since we first published this article, however, the paper have removed the quote from it’s online version.
In fact, it had come from a Twitter account operated by a Liverpool fan who had posted the quotes sarcastically.
