Shane Long - Good Pace/Good Diver but can't score enough!

From a majority Baggie perspective, it was good business selling Long to Hull, and yet Hull are now licking their lips at the profit!

Shane Long does not score enough - useless on one on ones and goes missing too much. Long always looks busy - granted, hassles defenders with pace, but the end result is not good enough!!!

Long was liked at West Brom despite many saying he was not good enough. Being liked, changed at Hull last year, when Long blatantly dived for a penalty. So good pace - gets penalties by diving/cheating, but that aside, he's very average at best! If Long is worth 12 million, then Danny Welbeck must be worth 30 million!

No sour grapes, just being honest! Berahino who came from our youth set up is worth two Shane Longs and one for the future!

Good luck to Saints except when we play you, as need the three points this weekend!

    In his prime, eh?

So he should be able to run faster and miss goals with far more precision?

He's already cost us a point at Liverpool with a terrible miss, which just about an

    ...and well overpriced.

Hull sold him because it was an incredible profit to make, in such a short space of time, that Long had done nothing to earn. You were mugged!

Any talk of him being 'in his prime', as being some sort of advantage, is totally ridiculous. He is a very ordinary player that will be extremely unlikely to improve. He certainly won't achieve the dizzy heights that Lambert did (and how much did Liverpool buy him for?).

Can anyone really believe that Long could, one day, play for England?

It always amazes me, that people, and football followers in particular, can say a player will be no good, or brilliant, before he has had a chance to settle into a new team.
Long may not be the most prodigious goal scorer, but he has shown, in one season, that if he gets the right service, he can score 20 plus.
I'm prepared to give him the chance to show what he can do, before diving in with the carp comments.

Could be worse. Could be David Nugent
