Basically went through Paulinho like he wasn't there.
That's where we have to get like Chelsea, Arse and Man city. They would have committed a foul and stopped him.

I was watching their match v Zenit in the CL and they defended with 2 banks of 4. Zenit hit the post and their keeper puled off some good saves, but they defended well and scored.
Basically doing the same to us, except we are not carving out enough chances.
Townsend needs to look up..down the right , cut in onto your left and try a shot. He's too easy to read.
There was a chance of a break at the end of the first half where he did that when we had a runner free on their left. He lost the ball. Maybe it was a foul but their defender knew what he was going to do.

2-1 and the dream continues wooooo!!

A small step up from West Ham tonight but for the second time in a week we've made a poor outfit a bloody hard slog I fear the worst against Liverpool and possibly even qpr

Taking the positives thats twice we haven't played well yet came with a result thanks to MoPo's subs!!

Lamela made the difference which shd give his confidance a boost and Bobby's volley wont have done his confidance any harm!
Shame he intended it for the other corner but im sure he'll take it!!!

SSY remind me who you support again or have you just pi55ed off the guys at Spurs *****??

Half the job done in what was a pretty messy first half, second half and the coming of Lamela the real great highlight. Should be well and truly wrapped up by the end of the first half next Thursday. COYS!

Really you have to give theses teams credit.
They defended with all their players behind the ball. The two forwards and two banks of four -like they did v Zenit.
It's hard to find space and break down a team when they defend that well as a team.
They know if they engage the game in any other way they will come unstuck.
Paulinho didn't do himself any favours imo. His movement was poor. He wasn't showing for the ball, making angles.
I saw the game v Zenit and their keeper had a great game then, pulled off some saves to keep them in it, as he did with Kane.

I'd say give the players some credit as they kept at it, did not concede -only from an error - and persevered in difficult conditions.

We now have 2 days rest before a 13.30 KO on Sunday which imo is b-ollocks when City and Poo could play that Sky slot and us Monday.

Blame Sky and the EPL if we are f-ucked and sluggish on Sunday afternoon

    Early team news.

"Vlad Chiriches returns but Mauricio Pochettino reports that Roberto Soldado is out of our Europa League play-off, second leg against AEL Limassol on Thursday night.
The striker fired home the equaliser as we came from behind to win the first leg 2-1 in Cyprus last week but misses the return at the Lane due to injury.
Mauricio explained: "It’s difficult for Roberto to play tomorrow because he is stiff in his back and his neck, so he’s out of the squad."
Vlad is available after missing our first three matches of the campaign with a back injury. Kyle Walker (pelvis) remains out."
