    Football Hooliganism?

Have any of you guys ever been involved in any trouble watching the Wanderers? I haven't to be honest, but I quite enjoy watching some videos on youtube.

I think the scariest away game for me, was back in 87, when we played Burnley away in the FA cup, it was absolute mayhem after the game and that was pretty scary as a 17 year old.

Have you ever encountered any scary games?

I wouldn't class myself as an hooligan but I had some fun away days in my late ****s and early twenties.

Like you, Burnley away brings back a few memories, if I remember rightly you had to walk down past a big field, may have been a cricket pitch and they came in droves to have a pop at us. they had what I would describe as a mesh net that separated the home/away fans which was ****e, coins went through, and it was great for splitting a red hot meat and potato pie into a multitude of burning projectiles.

Blackpool away was another, my first couple of away days were under escort to/from the station, I got in with a few lads and we used to go on a Friday night.

I remember having a few drinks in the Greyhound pub at moses gate and being late for the last game of the season against Preston, Burnden was crammed so we decided to try and get on the embankment with the away fans and as I walked up towards Normid one of locals presumed I was a preston fan and lamped me... Never been a hoolie, never looked for it, but ended up involved in some serious sh1t.

Wrexham away - John Thomas scored the winner and we went up - got chased all around the ground after
Huddersfield away (Leeds Road) on a wet midweek night - the coppers locked us in and we got bricked on the way out
Too many similar to mention. Hated it.

Look back now and glad that it's like it is nowadays where I can take my daughters in relative safety

I remember being at Sheffield train station waiting to come and I think the lads is/was Darren (wasn't a bright lad) and he always had a coat full of pin badges and some Sheffield knobs were trying to take them off him, a group of Bolton lads went over to help him out and it was carnage.

One of the proudest moments I remember, taking a liberty was swiftly dealt with.

    Incidentally, is Darren still around??
