    EEEL - I see the point about wage capping but I still think it would work. Forget bonuses a wage cap includes income from all football related activity for a player.

    For arguments sake Man City's wage bill is £90million.

    Then set the wage cap at £95million for the 2016 season and keep it the same for 5 years.

    Who cares if footballers only get £300k per week.

    It would give an also ran with a rich investor the opportunity to match that wage bill, it would encourage players to play for clubs through desire, not money (longer term) and it might return an element of spirit to the game and the supporters.

    Make it global. Sure China are throwing money about even now but who plays there? Qatar are aswell, who plays there?

    Sky pay billions to televise football because they gain subscribers and sell advertising. You could argue that increased competition will drive an increase in viewers. Players would still want to come to England because they would play in the best stadiums in front of
