It seemed as though he hadn't heard the whistle from the first challenge and played on, to correct you he didn't "clatter" Burke, it was a perfectly timed tackle, he got the whole ball first before touching the man. Exactly the same as the eustace tackle.
A common misunderstanding, playing the ball and then the man is still a foul. If you go in recklessly and dangerously, it's a booking.

But I agree, the tackle that Eustace was booked for, wasn't a foul, but 2 other challenges he made would get a booking more often than not, so he wasn't that hard done by!
Bloody hell Tricky is right.. You keep hearing 'he got the ball'!! It dont mean anything, you can't take the man and ball, it's still a foul.

Absolutely spot on Loyal. The referee {& sadly too many referees these days} do not know the difference between a foul and a tackle. Eustace won the ball and got booked for a great tackle and so did Buxton. Never a sending off.

A stronger ref would have given at least one penalty for his numerous shirt pulls and grappling he did in the box. Even the commentators were flabbergasted.

Is he such a pub player every week, or did the occasion get to him?

I'm probably alone but on first viewing it looked like forest had taken a quick free quick and and at the time was glad he made the second (clean) challenge. However, he had been pulling shirts all game and could have eaasily have been sent off before.

    Off the pace currently.

In comparison, Keogh was awesome, covering for both Buxton and Shotton on numerous occassions.

Buxton was doing no worse than what was being done to him, most of the time assa what ever his was had his hand on Buxtons chest, think its a bit blinkered to be saying it was all Buxton and there should have been penaltys. looked like the Florest players were happy to deal it out but not happy to take it back.

I'm really, really looking forward to seeing what Whitbread can do. The perfect replacement (being left-footed)

Loving the depth of our squad.

Harsh comments on Bucko. He is a heart on his sleeve type player, and by no means dirty. Check out how few yellow cards he got last season.

His first yellow was justified, as he got done by their player. The 2nd was harsh IMO. Firstly the wrestle with Assolongalongalonga wasnt a foul - both were just being strong. Then he seemed to react to Burke playing on and instictively made a well timed tackle. He said he hadnt heard the whistle, and if he was booked for that, then so should Burke as he had played on also. Very very harsh. Also, the tackle on Burke wasnt dangerous. No studs, and played the ball from in front of the man, not from behind. Cant say it was anything other than a hard but well timed tackle

Surprising how many red dogs are calling out for peno's - lets be consistent. If grappling and shirt pulling were penons, we'd have 10 a game. Every corner it goes on...AT BOTH ENDS!!!

The one some are claiming against Keogh is laughable. He had his palm on the players

The only thing I'd discredit him for would be giving the referee a decision to make in the first place in that situation, he'd do anything to blow that whistle of his.

Yeah Bucko had grips of Assombassombassombassombassombalonga's shirt a few times, but it's something you have to do as a defender when the forward constantly either has you in a grapple or a headlock when going for the ball. Expected a lot more from a '£5million man'.
