Interesting that McClaren went with Shotton tonight, he played well but clearly left CB is not his natural position.

Wit Buxton out for a while until his injury clears up for me Whitbread is the best option.

Listening in the car on the way to the game last night, Simpson gave the reasoning for playing Shotton instead of Whitbread.

Which was that the management felt that having played 5 games in a short space of time, Whitbread needed a rest. Furthermore, the fact that Wilson is strong and very quick they felt Shotton was better equipped to deal with this threat.

    Think they were proved right?

I find it amazing that we have a CB out injured, and we have 2 that are more than competent waiting on the bench. The depth of this squad is brilliant. It's not been this strong for a very long time.

Gone are the days of having no CB cover. 'Twas only in August against Rangers that we had Forsyth at CB and Naylor at LB

Also, special mention to Keogh. He's been brilliant. Some of his runs out with the ball were brilliant.

Shotton or Whitbread on Saturday then?

I think Shotton may be the better CB, but Whitbread is left-footed.

I'm going to say Shotton. Don't know why, but i feel like Schteve is trying to get him in when he can.

Three clean sheets in a row now in league and cup, 2-0 wins in each. Hasn't been a problem recently so lets get another clean sheet v Millwall.

It would be very nice to get another clean sheet but another 3 pts is the key.
