    Tootle

Last night post match, he looked shattered,
Wasn't interested in doing pics with fans and just waved his hand at them, hardly surprising in the circumstances, maybe he feels his bigger move has gone for the time being?

    re: Tootle

Most fans that go will have their own opinion on Toots but when I see him, he is OK ish and couldn't see a big fee coming in for him although some clubs may take a chance on a free transfer when his contract is up. Not sure how long that is? Anyone know?

But it won't help his cause playing in a poor team. I think he knows that. Its an ironic thing about our club that some players (Not him especially) think they are a failure if they don't get the big move.

Sad to see after the guy's exploits last season but he has been off his 'A' since the start of the season. Last season he put in Captain's performances and drove the team on but now he has gone backwards

He needs to remain with us and reach legendary status by breaking Tommy Lowry's appearance record of almost 500 games.

Tootle's form this season epitomises the malaise that's affecting the whole squad.
Perhaps one or two consecutive bright, lively and interested performances might enliven others?

Cornwall was given as a reason why we performed so badly last season but now I wonder if that was true or just the same thing that is happening now? ie the Manager's inability to motivate or some discord between the players because Steve is chopping and changing the whole time? Maybe its something in training? Take Cornwall out and we are left with the same question about SD. Apologies as this is a thread on Toots. He obviously is affected by the same malaise as you said. The reasons are still unclear though?

Toots probably thought that he'd played his last game for us against Preston, and not one of us would have resented him a move.

It didn't happen, his morale has suffered and when you're captain of a losing side it only gets worse.

Only a change in the team's fortunes will help him get back to his best.

Maybe he should let somebody else captain the team for a bit until he gets his form back
