O/T A little bit of History

Today, I've been researching some music composed by Sir Edward Elgar, and came across some interesting facts related to your club, which you might be interested in.

Elgar's passion for the Wolves started in 1898 when he attended a game - Wolves vs Stoke. He was so impressed by your player Billy Malpass which inspired him to compose what is classed as the "World's first Football chant" - its title "He banged the leather for goal"

The first ever public performance was by the choirs of St Peter's Collegiate Church not too long ago, with the soloist being Rita Cullis, the niece of Stan - very appropriate.

Elgar would cycle the 40 odd miles from his home, to Wolverhampton so that he could accompany a lady called Dora Penny, the daughter of the then Rector of St Peter's.
He immortalised her when he composed the world famous "Enigma Variations" - variation No.10 known as Dorabella.

Best of luck for the weekend.

Nimrod is my favorite classical piece. Make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end and the adrenaline and emotion pump through my viens every time I play it with a concert band or listen to it up loud.
    Perfect perfect perfect.
