    Why don't they make cans square? Space if often limited in cupboards and if all your cans were square you would fit more in. No Brainer really.
    It's the same with plates, they should be square. It would stop them rolling off the table as well.

    Unless it's liquid, the contents would get stuck in the corners.

    And I think the main reason would be price and ease of production.

    Corned beef cans are sort of square. It's a bit like putting a round peg in a square hole.
