Raith game now a 5.30 pm kick - off

Do posters prefer this Saturday time rather than Friday night kick - offs (e.g. Rangers game)

I'd rather prefer the game on the Friday night at 7.35pm.

Not sure why ALBA are having Queens v Raith so soon after the Raith 3 Queens 4 match?

They may have chosen another opponent's visit to Dumfries.

What an absolute ridiculous time to have a game of football at . It also clashes with the Solway Sharks home cup fixture against Telford Tigers ( 7.00pm )

With this game being broadcast live on Alba & kicking off at 5.30 , does anyone think this will make a big difference to the crowd ...?

Apparantly the Telford Tigers is quite a big game for the Sharks, so there could be a bit of traffic chaos in the Ice Bowl car park for anyone going to the ice hockey, especially with the temporary swimming pool sited there.

The kick off time will inevitably have an adverse effect on the crowd, as many people will only just be finishing work.

Raith are perhaps not the best supported away team at the best of times, but their fans will probably not bother making the journey at all.

I'm also disappointed about the Rangers game being moved to a Friday, - although 7.45pm is eminently more sensible. Despite the fact that trouble will be almost eliminated, shops pubs and restaurants have all missed out on a bumper pay day.

Well I am seriously considering not going despite having a season ticket. May come down to road conditions. 150 mile round trip, 25 quid on fuel and a very late winter drive back to the capital. Heaven knows it was bad enough yesterday.

Same goes for the Rangers game too.

Hope the club gets shed loads of dosh for these.

Read on the P&B Site that Queens won't earn anything extra from these live games

    Quote -

As others have said the clubs get nothing for live tv league matches. Its part of the central contract with the League. Goes into the pot and is redistributed at the end of the season based on your finishing

With the game being a later kick off Queens might encourage those local footballers who normally play at 2/3pm on a Saturday to Palmerston

A simple email to all South / East league clubs reminding them about the 5.30pm kick off would be a great idea & good PR work .
