Safescript does not seem to interfere with the smileys.

Unfortunately it disables the window up topside that you use to navigate between different boards.

So for now, the routine is: Enable Safescript to view threads. Then disable it to navigate to a different board. Then re-enable it to view threads there. Repeat.

    What a bal1s up.

One of the posters on Claret Mad suggested using Chrome with the Safescript addon installed. That worked for me, for the moment. He said that smileys don't work though. Let's find out:

I'm not happy about the situation. Chrome is not a browser I prefer to use. Funny thing is, I was considering kicking in my 20 L-shaped thingies to support the site for a year. I'll hold off; if this continues, there will be no site to support.
I steer clear from anything google/chrome. There's an ad-on similar to safescript for firefox. I downloaded firefox about five minutes ago. I didn't install either ghostery or *******.

Post #58 in the end of claret mad thread has the answer for Firefox. The only thing is once installed, you have to temporary allow if you decide to go on another footy mad sit

Thanks mate. I added NoScript to Firefox. That killed Simon's screen of death and it's back to normal. Let's see if I can re-enable ******* and ghostery...

...and it works. No trackers, no adverts. Life is sweet again!

Though I'll probably have to disable NoScript temporarily to navigate between forums.

You can either temporary disable Noscript, or bookmark a few of the ones you go and open a new tab/window.

Simpler just to bookmark them. Disabling and re-enabling Noscript seems to require restarting Firefox.

Oh, and Noscript has broken the "like it" button. Again. FFS.
