Driving back after our game I heard on the radio that several games had paid tribute to him by playing the Scotsport music when teams came out. Nice touch, I thought.
Of course, I was forgetting that through my early years Scottish Television was the last thing we got in Dumfries!

Not everyone hears about news bang on when it happens! Don't assume that just because you knew about it when it was posted on here that everyone else does!!
I'm sure many of the younger one's on here won't know that much about Arthur Montford but he was a legend in his time on 'Scotsport'. Because we didn't get STV down here many in this region missed the weekly ITV Scottish football highlights for years. I used to get to watch it when visiting relatives in Ayrshire and beyond.
Arthur Montford was ITVs rival to the one and only Archie McPherson, and I think I'm right in saying he was a off air he was a big Morton fan.
