Big Jake Pickhard played the last 5 minutes on Saturday against Brora.
Nice to see him becoming involved in the first team squad. He has matured hugely in the last year and has lost a lot of the petulance which was a feature of his game last year.
The Queens under 20's/reserves beat Annan 3-1 last night. The Queens scorers were Dykes,Pickhard and Dean Smith. Not much of a game against the weekest opposition they have played at home so far.The referee and assistants had a bit of a nightmare for both teams to be honest.

Agreed referee had an absolute nightmare, game could of easily ended 9 v 9. Could also of been a different story if he had awarded Annan a blatant penalty at 1-1, instead booking the guy for divingOriginally Posted by blazerman
Have to agree with all the posts above, a poor game to watch. The ref set a precedent when he didn't book Josh Scott for a late tackle on Michael McAnespie. Would agree that Jake Pickard has managed to control himself far better this year and the lad does look a prospect.
What I found strange last night was Queens played an Annan team that are without a point in the league and their first team have a game tonight so it was always going to be a young team Annan had out so surely last night was a chance for Queens to give some of the players a game that have been sitting on the bench [in 20's games]or not even getting into the squad, after all is it not about development or is it now about winning?
Does anyone know what's happened to Aiden Smith, don't think he's been on the bench for the first team or in the 20's squad for a couple of weeks, could he be injured?
You'd think the official site would of advertised this fixture better .
Queens, the league leaders , against our nearest rivals & no match reminder on the day of the game .
Anyway , well done Queens u20's
Is the Pickhard boy one of the English contingent ?

http://www.qosfc.com/players-U19[/quote] thanks . Good to see the development squad coming to fruition. These boys - the English ones especially- are quite a way from home and getting little money . Quite a commitment for them to come here when the success rate for making it in the game is so low and they are maybe seeing their pals back home earning money , learning job skills.I suppose that all these conditions make sure that those who have the strongest will / ability are more likely to make it ie carrot on the stick approach. They will see Queens as a team that they can either make it at or be in the shop window here .

Certainly is a big commitment for all the boys and also their parents who no doubt support them financial
