It looks like that the premier league will have at least ten games live on a Friday evening starting from season 2016-17. - view external link

Don't think it will bother us for sometime to come !
However if it replaces Monday night games well that seems OK as away supporters may be off the next day instead of going to work the next morning.

So the supporters who like a drink will be doing the Australian swill. That was when the Australian government had the bright idea of shutting the pubs at 6.00p-m to combat alcoholism. But it just made the workers rush to the pubs and drink as many pints a fast as they could by 6 which made things far, far worse. In fact it was called the '6 o'clock swill' and the government had to put things back to normal as there was loads more drunk blokes.
Just a bit of history for you all if you were not aware of this.

Following the NFL's lead which started offering up games on days other than Sunday afternoon. Big money to be made from supporters who can't get enough of the beautiful game. Once fans buy into such games there will be no turning back from the advertising money up for grabs! At present, the NFL is playing games Sunday at different times 1:00 pm, 4:25 pm and 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening and Monday evening; when I was a lad all games were only played Sunday afternoons.
