Are Wigan fans warnings haunting Martinez?


When Roberto Martinez was first appointed as Everton manger in the summer of 2013, NSNO spoke to some Wigan fans about what we could expect from our new boss.

There were mixed reports, but after last season, almost everyone thought that their warnings about his lack of flexibility in tactics were merely sour grapes or something that he was limited too with his Wigan squad.

In some games last season, Martinez even made substitutions that changed the outcome of the game from a losing position to a winning one, and the Blues tore the likes of Arsenal apart at Goodison Park.

However, at the halfway point of this season, we look back on those warnings with a little more of a nod of appreciation.
