Boyce, Llera and Slocombe can be proud of their performances tonight. Without their tremendous efforts we would have been well beaten.

The midfield completely disappeared in the second half as I suspected might happen given that Chesterfield had players who looked fitter, more mobile and with bags more ability in that area of the field. The full backs also ended up being run ragged although they were not given much help by those in front of them.

We were sadly missing the quality of Luke Williams, O'Neil and Osbourne to get the ball down and play out with composure when put under pressure. I don't believe for one minute Robins asked them to play so deep and give the ball away so cheaply but that's what happens when you have players of limited ability trying to defend a lead against a quality team.

Robins has much work to do before the month is out but then he already knew that.
