    re: Game in doubt ?

We seem to get these issues every single winter. Underfoot the pitch will be very heavy and that on its own apparently is putting the game in doubt. Secondly we have strong winds overhead which are going to affect the game. And last, but not least, we have heavy snow forecast for Fife this afternoon.

The ref will look at the pitch this morning. Will he/ should he take the forecasted conditions into account.
I think he should and call it off now.

    From Raith website

    9.00am Update

There has been no deterioration in the condition of the pitch overnight. However it is still heavy and being worked on by ground staff and volunteers.

With the distance our opponents Queen of the South have to travel in mind, Raith Rovers FC has requested a precautionary pitch inspection mid morning.

Match referee Brian Colvin will inspect the pitch around 10.15 am.

We shall of course notify supporters of the outcome as soon as possible.

Game's off due to player safety. You can see from the image on the RR site that they really busted a gut to fork the pitch!

Once again the travelling support is being treated with contempt. This is the longest trip in this division for Queens to travel so why not make the pitch inspection at half past nine?
The forecast is not looking good and it's likely that the game may well be off so why has the inspection been left so late?
Even if the game initially gets the all clear, travelling conditions will be hazardous to say the least.
The bus drivers will still have to turn up at Palmerston regardless for 10 o'clock so this late inspection will most likely result in a wasted journey for them from their depot.
Fans will still have to turn up waiting for any news in what could be more wasted journeys.
As I say,why not a half past nine inspection or even better 9 o'clock?[/quote]dirtbag rumour is some of the travel club would leave 5 mins before the game kick;s off. NO matter whe
