    The reasons very simple.

There was no space behind the other stands to expand. Gresty Road can't be built on, BR would have a problem if we extended the Railway end onto the London to Edinborough line and Rail House car park limits the other side.

It was the main stand or not at all.

Thanks WBW, I knew there had to be a good reason.
That's what happens when you're a southerner - too remote, too out of touch!

The type of people we want in the GRE, who are going to be louder and more hostile towards the opposition, are the type who turn up for the bigger games (Vale for example was a great home crowd), and they're not going to pay for a season ticket or £22 a game to get in. There needs to be cheaper prices or more incentives, and better marketing/advertising around the town and area for the club to fill that stand and encourage younger people to come with their mates. The club could do this if it was serious about creating that kind of atmosphere, but it isn’t.

There was little shout about anyway early on in the game, as both sides were sizing each other up.

There wasn’t a single shot on target from either side in the opening 25 minutes but Yeovil were certainly enjoying more of the ball as Crewe failed to find a spark.

However, a switch to a midfield diamond after 30 minutes brought the Alex more urgency and energy with the midfield three of Jones, Ness and Grant, given much more of a licence to go and join the previously isolated front two in attack.

Things did liven up after that...but a sparse crowd did not help.

    Absolutely spot on Sir.

£22 for any game is crazy at Gresty road in my opinion but £22 for Yeovil midweek is taking the **** . The club should be doing half price tickets and doing incentives to the season ticket holders with things like bring 2 kids along and 1 goes in free.

They will more than likely buy a drink or a pie at half time and may even go into the club shop and get m
