    Mandaric

Just wondered how he was viewed at Pompey. Now left SW and is telling everyone about how gratefull everyone at Fratton Park and Leicester was to him.

    re: Mandaric

Love him or hate him, he did a lot for all three clubs and they are stronger as a result of his influence.

It is fair to say that Pompey would not have had such a tremendous burst of success as they did in the noughties without his money & influence. He brought in Harry Redknapp who constructed the teams that got to TWO Wembley FA Cup finals, winning one and losing only 0 - 1 to Chelsea in 2010.

If I have a criticism of MM it was that he used to shoot his mouth off before things had fully materialised, but I salute what he did in trying to rehabilitate Georgie Best from his drinking dilemma. We know all about that as we live near Walton and Kingswood.

His MO was to take a team underperforming and create value in the team and the fan base. Pompey and Leicester did that by reaching the Premiership and both have a terrificly partisan fan base.

The Owls are meant to also be a sleeping giant, but they won't be getting promoted this year. Hopefully, with all the Hillsborough history rub

Can't fault what he done for what he did to save the club and was always happy to engage with the fans.

Having said that, I think his appointment of Redknapp was more a stroke of luck than anything and he did run his mouth far too often and it could be argued that the whole disastrous chain of events Pompey has suffered in recent years started with him selling us to Gaydamak.
