    niall canavan

its not rocket science why robins picks him.
he is good at heading the ball.
his size means he is not going to get pushed around.
he is a assett at corners and free kicks.
the management think they can work with him for the future.
after knill, laws, willcox at last robins is here to aide him on.

I don't think anyone's arguing about his assets as they are there for all too see and it's great having that goal threat from set pieces. Unfortunately his problems over the years have been a lack of mobility particularly against small pacy forwards and an horrible tendency to repeatedly lose concentration leaving opposition forwards unmarked.

If he's now starting to overcome these deficiencies I think we will have a great player on our hands but let's not pretend he's a young kid still learning the game. He's nearly 24 with well over 120 games under his belt so it's probably now or never.

look how many goals he as scored and everone makes misstakes.I am more worried abour the right hand side of the defence,we lost a goal on saturday because the right hand side got pulled out of position leaving a gap.The midd field seem to be getting back and helping the defence better than thy used to so i think things are going in the right direction.
