Think I've seen an old video clip of that game .
Wonder what size of crowd we'll get for our quarter final game next Friday ??!
In 1952, a record crowd of 26,552 people watched Hearts defeat us 3-2 in the Scottish Cup at Palmerston.

i would like to see them allowing crowds to pack in like that again ,i think the last time i was in a trully packed palmy was in around the late 70s when we played rangers i was just a 4 or 5 year old at the time ,but can remember the terraces swaying .
That Palmerston record crowd cup - tie versus Hearts was all - ticket at a one - off price of 2 shillings (10p) with no concessions for boys or senior citizens but season tickets were valid.
Scottish Cup Quarter Final 1976 Queens 0 Rangers 5. I've seen the crowd quoted as 18,500, 19,000 and 20,000 over the years, but it was my first season following Queens and remember parts of that day fairly well. There is a thread elsewhere on this site about whether alcohol could be introduced! On this day, I'm sure there were over 50 arrests or ejections. There was no segregation and alcohol, including bottles and cans was permitted on the terracing in those days.Originally Posted by Francis_begbie_HFC
That day I remember vividly those missiles being used by opposition fans to throw at fans of the opposing team who were being frog marched out of the ground by the Police via the ash track between the terrace
Sturie just to remind you of that game Queens lined up:- Ball Ches Thorburn Clark Boyd McLaren Dempster O'Hara P. Dickson Reid G. Dickson subs Miller and Bryce (mark 1) - some all - time favourite Doonhamer players in that side but, on the day, outclassed. The official crowd was 18,709 - the highest for 20 years.
I seem to remember that Peter Dickson had a dream the night before the match that he would score a hatrick !Originally Posted by Palmyman
That 1970s Queens team have a reunion every year but Peter Dickson is never invited as, despite being a great goalscorer, he was never popular for some reason amongst his team - mates !
On this day in 1974 , Queens beat Cowdenbeath 5-0.
