4th March my favourite footy day

The 4th of March 1972 saw Stoke City win there one and only major cup competition ( and it was then) when we defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the league cup final at Wembley with goals from Terry Conroy and George Eastham cancelling out a Peter Osgood equaliser on the stroke of half time. I was 10 years old at the time and was taken to the match by my brother in law Howard after my wonderful sister Pauline bought me a ticket as a birthday present the month before. Had a great day that will live in my memory forever.
