Apparently morale was high going into the Montrose game. Things just didn't work out on the pitch. The feeling is that too much was expected of Nicoll and McBride after their extended layoff.

There's still plenty to play for this season. I think we would have happily taken this league position at the start of the campaign. Some crucial games to come.

    C'mon the Lichties!

    In answer to manonthemaroon

In 1959/60 we went 15 games without a win.
In 1968/69 we had no wins in our first 17 league games, including 8 defeats in a row. Both of these runs were in the top flight.

We went 12 games without a win in 2008/09 and the same last season, although one of those was a cup game.

Our worst run though must be 2002/03 when we finished the season with 17 league games without a win (18 including cup games) which included a run of 10 league defeats in a row (11 inc. cup games). We had 1 win in 27 league games and only won 3 in all 39 league games that season.

But there is hope, in 1994/95 we won only 3 of our first 22 league games (26 inc. cups) but then went on to win 7 games in a row. A run like that would be very welcome now.

Our best run of wins is 9 in a row in the promotion season of 1967/68 and we have twice gone 15 league games without defeat, in 1952/53 and 2000/01.

In 2006/07 we won 9 out of 10, drawing the other game and in 1934/35 we won 13 out of

In situations like this, when things have gone sour, what the team needs is the 12th man/men on the terracing, not the grumpy old men who sat up in the balcony criticising the muppets.
We are, hopefully, at the end of a really bad run and it is up to the fans to give the players that extra oomph on Saturday to kiick start out championship challenge.

Our first granddaughter in Stonehaven is now a couple of weeks old and we hope to be over there more when Lichties are playing at home. Alas it might not be this season though I am planning to be at my local match at Elgin on 11th April.
