    Gossip, gossip & more gossip.

    Todays offerings.

"According to today’s edition of France Football, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have not given up their chase for PSG youngster and central midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
According to the magazine, Tottenham Hotspur have formally invited the player and his family to come and visit the club’s facilities and spend a few days in and around the North London side’s setup.
Tottenham made several failed attempts to sign the player on loan last January."

"Tottenham have been linked with a move for versatile defender Toby Alderweireld who is currently on loan at Southampton.
Atletico rate the 26-year-old in the £6million bracket which doesn't appear to be massively expensive in today's market."

"Ezequiel Lavezzi has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the French press.
French source Le10 Sport has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have taken one step closer to signing Argentine attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain.
However, while Lavezzi may be a

    Yes please.

"Manchester United and Spurs have been linked with a move for Memphis Depay.
The 21-year-old PSV winger is one of the most in-demand prospects in European football, and his rise to prominence has coincided with links to Tottenham and Manchester United.
The duo were reportedly attempting to sign the left-sided forward following some impressive displays at last summer’s World Cup, and it appears as if they will be going back in for him in 2015, according to the Mirror.
Depay has shown that he is an excellent talent, and despite his young age he has netted 22 goals in 32 games this season, despite not being an out-and-out striker. His creative play is just as good as his goalscoring, but to be used to full effect he must be utilised in a system with wingers.
His goal threat would be a welcome addition to Tottenham’s attacking line - with little consistency coming from the two wide players currently - and playing in a system that requires constant running and pressure plays ri

    Another day, another...

"Tottenham Hotspur will try to sign Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza this summer, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has impressed so far this season with eight Serie A goals, and he earned himself an international call-up last year.
Zaza is valued at £12m and his agent is due to fly to London to negotiate a deal according to The Mirror, but the report also says that Spurs have competition from Juventus.
It is understood that the Italian champions have first option on Zaza, which makes them the clear favourite to complete a deal at the end of the season.
Zaza has netted once in four games for Italy."

    Mores linked.

"TOTTENHAM are plotting trio of summer signings with Kevin Wimmer, Islam Slimani and Aymen Abdennour all on Mauricio Pochettino's radar.
Reports emanating from France, Portugal and Britain all claim Spurs are ready to take the transfer window by storm with a quick-fire £33.5m raid.
Pochettino will adhere to Tottenham's transfer strategy of recruiting players aged 26 or below to help their youth blossom.
The Argentine boss wants to sign players who possess pace, energy and stamina to carry-out his high intensity footballing philosophy.
Wimmer, 22, is being monitored by Tottenham scouts and can be signed from German outfit FC Koln for a relatively low £6m with modest wages of £35,000 per-week.
Slimani, 26, who is rated at £6m impressed for Algeria during the 2014 World Cup finals, and harbours incredible pace to further develop Spurs' counter-attacking prowess.
Meanwhile Abdennour poses the most expensive transfer target for Tottenham, and is valued at a whopping £21.

"All-time World Cup top scorer Miroslav Klose will snub the advances of Aston Villa and Tottenham this summer in favour of a move to Brazil.
The 36-year-old's current contract with Lazio expires at the end of the season, meaning he is able to leave on a free.
Aston Villa and Tottenham have both expressed an interest in the German, who has hit 13 goals in 27 appearances this campaign.
But, according to Fox Sports Brazil, the striker is weighing up a move to South America after Sao Paulo offered him a contract."

"Everton manager Roberto Martinez confirms he is monitoring Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa.
Arsenal, West Ham and Spurs have all been tipped to make summer bids for the United man who seemingly has no future at Old Trafford."

"According to Turkish-football.com, Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino will battle it out to sign Lokomotiv Moscow’s Oumar Niasse this summer."

I usually go for a defender as captain but which one of our lot would you go for?

That leaves the midfield but we're still limited so best buy Schneiderlin and make him skipper but in any case buy him even for £25 mill!

That's a good question, Devonspur. In fact, the present shambles makes answering it bloody difficult. I can't think of a player in the first eleven operating in midfield and defence worthy of it.

wake up devon, Schneiderlin will only go to a team playing Champions League.kevin nolan would make a nice captain at the lane and he is free.
