"Tottenham Hotspur are now this close (holds thumb and forefinger a centimetre apart) from agreeing with Lyon over the transfer of Clinton Njie. It looks like, unless there's a total breakdown in communication, the attacker will be a Tottenham Hotspur player before the end of the window.

French newspaper L'Equipe say on Saturday that Tottenham's latest bid is €13m plus a further €3m in bonuses related to performance. That's not enough for Lyon but, and this is a big but, the French have dropped their acceptable price down to €15m. Sure they'd like more, and the club's president Jean-Michel Aulas has said if Newcastle United have bid €17m for Florian Thauvin of Marseille then he'd want the same for Njie, but L'Equipe say a straight €15m will now do it.

It's also less than Le Parisien said Njie would cost in a combined deal with Fazio. Lyon were happy to accept €12m plus Fazio. So unless they valued Fazio at €3m or less, the price has come down a fair bit.
