From PKB's linked article:
"Hello, I am Mike Lloyd, Martyn Matthews' brother-in-law.
On behalf of the family I would like to thank all of the Wolves fans and the club for their kind words and thoughts over the last few days.
We have been overwhelmed with your kindness, warmth and generosity that we have received during this distressing time.
It is a great comfort to see that there are so many people who genuinely care about our family.
Overnight, our normal family life has been shattered.
Some members of the media were knocking the door after 10pm on the evening of the incident and elements of the press were camped outside all day on Wednesday.
We’d like to reiterate our request to the media for privacy as we try and come to terms with Martyn’s loss and the fact that we’ll be making no comment to the media at this time."
So some of the gutter press have released the vultures to stake out the family home at a time when warmth, compassion and personal space is most required
It's a small world and i found out today that Martyn Matthews worked at the same company as one of my brother-in-law's.
A minute's applause in the 50th minute of our next home game appears to be gathering pace for Martyn Matthews, i think any loss of life should be remembered.
I understand the point but I am sometimes uncomfortable at how its done.Originally Posted by wolves71
The club have lowered the flags to half mast, and that is a nice touch. If we were to hold a minutes reflection for all those who perished in that tragedy I would think that also a nice touch but after that I'm unsure.
It seems to me to be a 'fad'now to offer some sort of 'tribute' during football matches at every loss of life that can be linked to a club regardless of reason. Some of it I accept as being right and proper but a lot of it I think is unnecessary.
Perhaps I'm just an old out of touch 'dinosaur' when it comes to things like this but there you are!
