    Player Fitness

Surely this is something that needs addressing come the close season. The number of times THROUGHOUT the season that the team has looked dead on its feet going into the last quarter of a game is surely no coincidence?

Against Liverpool Cairney highlighted this when breaking fprward in the last 20 mins down the right.Instead of keeping going to the by line he stopped..checked back inside and delivered a tired looking ball into the box which was cleared and the lad was completely knackered to make any attempt to get back.

We really need to toughen up ..we seem to be very weak physically as a team. New fitness regime required this summer ..?

I think Howie you could go as far back as when Hughes was in charge to the last time we had a very fit squad
Back then we had a team where some players could go and play 2 games in a row if asked to
Now our team is struggling to last 75 minutes as you highlighted this has to change.

Can this really be right? Look at the "Backroom Staff" list on the BRFC site. There are at least a dozen people involved in assuring full fitness. Many of them are well-known, highly-respecteds. Surely they can't be turning out players who don't last 90 minutes.
It's the same with the spate of hamstring injuries. On some sites, Rovers supporters are suggesting it is a conditioning problem, but it is surely much more likely to be bad luck and coincidence. If it isn't, several people need to be sacked!!

The proof is there aucks our fitness levels have been gradually dropping since Mark Hughes departed
This season has seen our players mentally and physically drained by 80 minutes
This has cost us a few points
I am sure this has been noticed sadly the cupboard is bare to do anything about it.

Well, it just seems inconceivable to me, Robin, given the number of experts at the club whose specific duties are to monitor the players' fitness, preparation, conditioning, recovery routines, dietary intake, etc.
