    Points needed

Right, senaroo time. How many points will we need to avoid the play offs?
    Current standings are:
    Ham 43
    Partick 38
    Killie 38
    Ross C 37
    Well 31

If we were to win 4 and draw 1 (with Accies for example) we would have 44 pts.
As this would require us to beat all the other teams, the maximum the others could get would be:

    Ross C - 4 wins - 49
    Killie - 3 wins - 47
    Partick - 2 wins - 44
    Ham - 1 win, 1 draw - 47.

In short, even if we do somehow get 44 pts, we'd need St M and Accies to do us a favour, and/or there to be draws in some of the head to heads.

Of course we could win the next 4, Accies lose their 4 and we beat them on the final day to put them into 11th!

Sounds great. Hamilton haven't won in ten and are struggling big time and are lucky to have points in the bag. If we are to catch anyone I think it will be killie, they are struggling at the moment. To be honest we are clutching at straws. I've got as much chance playing with kate uptons bangers you keep seeing advertised at the bottom of the page than we have of getting out of the pkay offs.

Haha! I'd probably accept a season in the championship for that!

its not wildy optimistic to think accies could lose all five they are uterly rank where it goes off the rails is expecting us to win five.

I still think a lot could depend on the distribution and order of the fixtures. We need a home match first and we need to win it. If - and I know how big that 'if' is - we could win our first two games and there were some drawn matches among the others, then the picture would change.
Whatever, though, and however fed - up so many 'Well fans justifiably feel, I hope our supporters keep turning up and cheering the guys on. With our backs to the wall, what's the alternative?

The alternative is to not bother their arse and not go and frankly after that shambles on Saturday I wouldnt blame any Motherwell fan not bothering. 1600 blooody fans paid damn good money to support them on Sat they were desperate to support them and they do as most Motherwell teams do when the fans turn out , they fpuck it up. If our support is p1ss poor in the run in the players have no one but themselves to blame.

For me - if we win the next two games then we will be in touching distance of at least one of the teams above us. Our survival will be back in our own hands almost certainly. However if we don't win either of the next two games then we need to keep a winning focus mentality for the playoffs

Spot on. While all 5 games are important just now the first 2 are critical. A couple of "relatively" easy openers could set us up and unsettle teams above us.
